LEARNING
FACILITATION

My professional title is Learning Facilitator.
What does that entail?

I specialize in guiding individuals, teams, and leaders in the process of acquiring new Mindsets and Skillsets knowledge and wisdom, and provide them with strategies for deepening sustainable embodiment and meaningful application of what they learn in both their personal and professional lives. This includes being a process expert: optimizing Learning Projects by guiding insightful discussions, fostering knowledge sharing, and helping attendees learn from the experience itself, beyond mere content.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Comprehending the goals of both individual Learning Projects and Team and Leadership advising, and how they align with Big Picture learning objectives. What skills are being enhanced? What knowledge is being imparted?

  • Clarification of topics that must be addressed to attain those goals, and what boundaries are essential.

  • Guiding learners out of their comfort zones and framing change and growth as an adventure.

  • Customizing learning content and approaches: no cookie-cutter, "one size fits all", "one and done", or "check the box" mediocrity.

  • Supporting and encouraging participation while being mindful of individual communication preferences.

  • Keeping learning on track by not indulging irrelevant discussions and guiding participants towards thinking in greater detail relative to the intended outcomes.

  • Time and attention management.

  • Fostering self-reflection, self-evaluation, and critical thinking skills.

  • Eliminating disruptive behaviors, mitigating conflicts, and encouraging learners to think outside of bug-ridden biases that can hold them back.

  • Helping learners uncover alternative ways of thinking, disrupt cognitive distortions, foster creative problem solving, and discover upgraded solutions.

  • Being respectful regarding the different cultures, experiences, and backgrounds of the learners, which may impact how content is interpreted.

  • Driving motivation and inspiration toward tangible successes.

  • Outlining how newly acquired mindsets and skillsets connect to various job tasks and functions via asking questions that guide learners to think beyond a mere linear fashion.

  • Creating activities in which knowledge is applied to real life scenarios.

  • Reinforcing the need for personal and group progress amongst learners.

  • Keeping everyone on the same page, clearly defining goals and instructions.

  • Actively listening, building rapport, and bringing fun into the process.

  • Creating a safe space for every participant, ensuring that each learner feels safe to speak up, challenge ideas, admit mistakes, and ask questions without fear or intimidation, and creating a positive experience for experimentation and collaboration.

  • Adaptability when learners and/or the situation might require a different tact than what is planned.

  • Providing advice and insight when needed.
